The Paleo diet, also known as Caveman diet, includes nothing else but natural food items--lean meat, fish, fresh fruits and vegetables, and eggs. Popularized by Dr. Loren Cordain, it is based on the eating habits of our ancestors, who have lived millions of years ago.

Snacking is optional in the Paleo diet. But it's really not a bad idea, especially if it can prevent you from indulging on too much food during meals.
Here is a short list of snacks within the principles of the Paleo diet.
Grab a fruit straight from your fridge or create a Tropical fruit salad for breakfast by combining, for example, bananas, mangoes, strawberries, kiwi, passion fruit, etc
2. Handful of nuts
Nuts, such as almonds, brazil nuts, chestnuts, hazelnuts, macadamia, and pistachios, make an integral part in the Paleo diet. However, they are best eaten raw and must be limited to 4 ounces (or about a handful) per day.
Baked salmon - 4 fresh wild salmon fillets with asparagus and roasted beets
Canned salmon salad - 2 cans of wild salmon with olive oil and lemon juice
Smoked salmon can be part of your diet but should not be used as a staple food.
4. Beef Jerky
Choose a lean cut of meat or cut it into really thin slices and then marinate in a salty mixture. Afterwards, roast the jerky at very low temperature. Making this recipe takes a lot of time.
Eggs are great sources of protein that contains all the essential amino acids needed by our body to build and repair muscles. They can be prepared in so many ways - hard-boiled, scrambled, omelettes, etc. But remember to eat the whole egg, yolk included, in order to enjoy its benefits.
6. Pork rinds
Pork rind is really just fried pork skin. The key is to make it yourself as you can control the amount of salt used and to also ensure that there won't be any other non-paleo ingredient added.
7. Leftover meat
Turn leftover meat into a frittata or eat with mustard and mayonnaise.
The list of vegetables allowed in the Paleo diet includes green, leafy veggies (cabbage, kale, lettuce, artichoke, spinach, etc.), root vegetables (potatoes, turnips, rutabaga, radish, onions, carrots, etc.), starchy veggies (cassava root, sweet potatoes, yams, etc.), and others like mushrooms, eggplant, celery, asparagus, cauliflower, etc.
9. Coconut butter
Coconut butter can be eaten directly or added to Paleo pancakes or other sweet applications.
A few slices of high-quality salami is allowed but must be eaten in moderation.
